New York Mets’ Tim Byrdak goes from retail to relief
(via sportsnetny)
I believe in a second chance to make a difference.
In his first game as a Met on April 9, 1985, Gary Carter hit a tenth inning walk-off home run off Neil Allen to give the Mets a 6–5 Opening Day victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.
We’ll miss you kid.

“(Tuesday) he struck me out. He threw fastball first pitch, (then) slider, slider. I just went today looking for a slider. He threw me two fastballs down the middle, ball, another fastball and then a slider.”
It was the pitch Beltran had craved. He bashed it over the right field wall.
“That,” Harris said, “was some revenge.”
